TIAGO IORC "Let Yourself In" album preview

2010's most promising singer/songwriter Tiago Iorc "Let Yourself In" album out now

Originally from Brazil, Tiago Iorc (pronounced ee-ork) moved abroad with his family at an early age, living for several years in England and in the United States. At the age of eight, already back to his former country, he began his relationship with music as he first touched the acoustic guitar. Overwhelmed by music ever since, Tiago never restrained effort in appreciating various genres, always aiming to learn from the songs he considered consistent examples of melody, harmony and expression. Nowadays, the 23 year old singer/songwriter feels comfortable enough to sketch his first compositions and to truly express himself through his music.

His debut album "Let Yourself In" is a diverse collection of pop songs that reflect a wide range of musical influences. The album walks a line between rock, soul, blues and jazz, including his versions of worldwide classics - The Beatles "Ticket To Ride" and The Temptations "My Girl". His well-placed lyrics and carefully crafted melodies show the main concern of his work - synergy between lyric and music. Includes "Nothing But A Song", "Blame", "No One There", "There's More To Life" and more! Will definitely appeal to fans of Jason Mraz, Jack Johnson and John Mayer.

"Let Yourself In" is released locally by Universal Records.

Backstreet Boys' AJ McLean releases solo album "Have It All" out now

AJ McLean, the voice that captured the hearts of millions around the world as a member of Backstreet Boys (130 million records sold worldwide) will release his solo album "Have It All" this February. The carrier single is "Teenage Wildlife".

For the last 12 months, AJ has been in the studio writing with One Republic’s Ryan Tedder, *N Sync’s JC Chasez, as well as industry legends, Mark Hudson and Kristin Lundin (producer of Backstreet Boys' 'I Want It That Way', *N Sync's 'Bye Bye Bye' & Britney Spears ' 'Born To Make You Happy') to create his debut. The album, which he sees as ‘pushing the envelope’, is a departure stylistically and musically from his Backstreet Boys material, and has seen him rediscover an inner sense of himself. A personal record, the record draws inspiration from his own experiences, including exorcising the alcohol addiction he once suffered.

Says AJ of his new material ‘This record for me has allowed me to rediscover a sense of who I really am. I’ve been writing with some amazing people like Ryan Tedder and Mark Hudson; to be able to finally create this body of work, I really do think I’m going to surprise people with the direction of this album.’

Talking further about the sounds of the album – ‘We recorded partly in Nashville so we’ve got this whole Southern Rock vibe going, as well as in San Francisco and Los Angeles. The record really allows me to unwrap another side to me’.

On first hear of the material, you get a sense that AJ really is, in his words, ‘a sponge in terms of musical influence’. You can sense some early Lenny Kravitz, a bit of Jamiroquai, dripping into Daft Punk and rounded off with some Lynyrd Skynyrd. If you had to use one verb to describe this record, it would be funky.

Having had massive success with the world’s biggest boy band, AJ is no stranger to global chart success. However, he understands that with this record, it is more about discovery as opposed to ‘ticking the boxes to fit in with what gets played on radio’. The album, but AJ admits ‘he has a few ideas’, is his vision, and won’t be compromised.

"Have It All" track listing:
1. TEENAGE WILDLIFE (First single)
2. HAVE IT ALL
3. LONDON
4. GORGEOUS
5. WHAT IF
6. DRIVE BY LOVE
7. LOVE CRAZY
8. SINCERELY YOURS
9. I QUIT
10. I HATE IT WHEN YOU'RE GONE
11. WHAT IT DO

TVXQ Vivi Magazine Interview

-With the songs I think everyone grew too. If you can tell us “as a man” how you guys think of yourselves. If you can start with your good point and bad point.

Jaejong: My good thing? Good thing… umm how I don’t think that I’m the most important. I’m not those type. I’m constantly thinking about someone else. That’s why I cant reject people. I don’t want to hurt the other person so I tend to accept anything. The blood type O people seem to be like that. This is a secret but I get really stressed. I hold it in and hold it in and then I explode! saying “I was holding it in the whole time!” *laughs* that’s why people say I’m scary when I get mad.

Yoochun: My good thing is that I have a warm heart *laughs*. My bad thing is that lately I don’t want to get out of my house. I kind of got bored of going out.

Junsu: I don’t have a good thing. *laughs* Well I don’t notice it myself. What people say about me is that I’m decisive. and I’m usually a positive person. My bad thing is …. I don’t have any *laughs* that’s a lie. I have a lot. The most is that I hate to lose even if it’s something small. I’ll never accept that I lost. But lately I grew up and I don’t get as mad but as a guy it’s not a bad thing not to want to lose right!?

Yunho: Once I get into something I really concentrate on that. and I’ll never give up until I achieve it. I think I’m a passionate person. I tend to not be able to see anything but that though. Even if everyone’s calling me. most of the time i cant hear it. Overall i guess i have a manly personality and… I don’t know. So I don’t understand how girl are feeling a lot *embarrassed* . I think I’m romantic in my very own way but girls are hard..

Changmin: I don’t know if i should say it myself but including the bad parts about myself I like myself. I’m a complete blood type B and is short tempered but because I have this side in me I think that it brings out my good side. I’m usually quiet and shy person but once we become really close I talk a lot and can have a lot of fun. I think my type is that with a small group pf people I get to know them deeply taking time. Overall it means that everything except my bad part s all good. Although of course that’s a joke *laughs*

- Okay now what kind of guys are you when it comes to love?

Yunho: I’m the type who completely gets into it and cant see anything around me! … but I haven’t had a lot of relationships so I don’t really know.

Yoochun: I used to be like that too. Someone who falls completely into them. Once I like someone I always thought “it’s her for sure!” but now I can listen to what people around me tell me since falling completely into them didn’t work out.

Junsu: I’m both. I have experienced both falling deeply into her and being really calm. My surroundings really effect how I can have a relationship so I really don’t know how its going to change. But if I can want to not think about it too much and be natural.

Changmin: For me the only time I couldn’t see anything around me was only my first love. After that I’m calm. At least not so into her to the point it effects my work. Only my first love was um… I was crazed about falling in love *laughs bitterly*

Jaejoong: I think I’m different depending on that person. If that person is aggressive maybe I’ll be become aggressive too. But if not I think I’ll become more simple. But any type of girl I’ll protect her no matter what. That’s why I work out to become strong *laughs* In Japan right now grazing boys (non-aggressive boys) are popular but I think guys should be able to protect the girl so i want to be a carnivorous boy (aggressive boys).

- What about everyone else? How would you protect a girl?

Changmin: If it’s during our date and we got attacked if that was the situation then I’ll put my girlfriend in a taxi first and let her go. Then even if I run away desperately she won’t see me *laughs*

Junsu: I would carry my girlfriend and run!! I’m fast at running so I have the confidence to be able to run away!!

Yoochun: If I had to think really realistic I would have my girlfriend call my manager and while she’s calling I’ll fight and try to make time. I used to do Taekwondo so I think I can stop it for a little while.

Yunho: I used to do Aikido so I”d fight too. Oh but maybe its not good to fight as an artist huh. Well it’s bodyguard! yeah bodyguard. The most important thing is my girlfriend’s feelings and safety!

- You guys are all so reliable! At last what kind of guy do you want to be?

Yunho: I say this a lot but who I look up to the most is my father. Like my father I want to be able to give many people courage. That’s why I’m doing volunteer work right now. But out of all my dreams this is the most important.

Changmin: I want to be a guy who can make a warm family. In order to achieve that I need more that love. To be realistic I need to be strong and have money.

Jaejoong: I want to be a young dad. *shy* I want to drop/pick my child from school. But the world is full with danger so I’m scared to to be a girls dad, so I want a boy.

Yoochun: I want to be a man with confidence. It seems like someone with confidence knows what they need to do at that time.

Junsu: Same with me. I want to have confidence towards everything. And hopefully if I can be able to continue singing.

In 2004, one song did not only wet the nation's appetite for hamburgers, but also became the anthem for the new OPM acoustic movement. However, unknown to a lot of people, the gentle voice behind the song is no flash in the pan. The singer-songwriter, Noel Cabangon, has been around since the mid-eighties. In his college days, Noel became part of Buklod or the Bukluran ng Mapagpalayang Musiko. It is through Buklod that Cabangon established loyal followers. Groove Armada ready to unleash new album "Black Light"

Twelve years into a career as purveyors of top drawer dance and downtempo music, Andy Cato and Tom Findlay, better known as Groove Armada have been nominated for multiple Grammys, sold over 3 million albums worldwide, and played to 5 million + fans through the years. With massive hits like “Easy”, “Superstylin’”, “I See You Baby”, the downtempo Gorillaz-esque inspired (before Gorillaz even existed) gem, “My Friend” and the massive ragga / Jimi Hendrix inspired “Purple Haze”, you really can not have dance / electronic music today without these electronic legends / veterans.

On the new sixth artist album, Groove Armada continues to push the boundaries artistically. Not many band’s sixth albums can be described as bold, brave, fresh, adventurous or representing a new creative peak, but Groove Armada’s brilliant “Black Light” is all of those things and more.

“We could’ve knocked out an album of ragga-influenced house bangers and a couple of chill out tunes, and that would’ve been a much easier life,” explains Andy. “But we needed a new challenge. Neither of us was interested in just repeating ourselves.” Instead, the music-obsessed duo took inspiration from the new breed of acts they were booking for their award-winning London festival, Lovebox. “Bands like the Friendly Fires, Klaxons, Passion Pit, LCD Soundsystem, Ladyhawke and MGMT,” says Tom. “They’re the ones really leading the charge, making genuinely exciting, dance-informed music. And that sound really pushed us back towards people like Bowie, Gary Numan, New Order, Fleetwood Mac and Roxy Music.”

“Black Light” ranks among their best work to date and sees the masters of reinvention move in some thrilling new directions. Featuring Bryan Ferry of Roxy Music, Nick Littlemore of Empire of the Sun / PNAU, and introducing newcomer SaintSaviour, GA fans and those eager for new music will be blown away when the album drops in Feb 2010.

wise. Album standout "Paper Romance" could have fit right in on MGMT's "Oracular Spectacular." But then again, it's not as if Armada can't lay claim to certain elements of that sound-what Cato calls "that Brooklyn thing; rock'n'roll made by people who grew up in nightclubs." Armada first burst onto the U.S. scene with the booty-shaking "I See You" during the height of the big beat era in 1999, and the duo now hosts the Lovebox event series, which has boasted headliners like N*E*R*D and Goldfrapp. Now free from all prior obligations-including one of the first brand-based 360 deals with Bacardi and a nearly decade-long Jive contract-Groove Armada is putting out "Black Light" on San Francisco-based indie Om. "People who were really feeling it, we just worked with them," Cato says of the label selection process. "You can't put a price on raw enthusiasm."

Uriah Heep "Celebration" CD Out Now

Uriah Heep has often been referred as “one of the greatest bands from the ‘70s”. A definition that with no doubt tells one side of the story of this magnificent band that together with the more rewarded Black Sabbath, Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin have been defined the undisputed inventors of Hard Rock. But in contrast to these other great bands Uriah Heep have always been mainly focussed on the flowery and melodic aspect of the genre. Many of Uriah Heep’s songs sparkle due to sophisticated songwriting, fascinating harmony backing vocals and unexcelled catchy melodies.

Originally founded by sadly missed vocalist David Byron and guitarist Mick Box, the band ran through an amazing number of reformations, with Mick Box always at the helm, supported by the great talent of Ex Bowie/Ziggy band Trevor Bolder on bass who shared most of the Uriah Heep history with him. Like all bands, Uriah Heep went through highs and downs but their audience never stopped loving them, probably because Uriah Heep music never let them down and remained at high levels even in the darkest moments. In their 40-year musical career Uriah Heep accomplished to release 21 studio albums. Altogether their records sold more than 30 million units worldwide. Today’s line-up is Mick Box (Guitar/Vocals), Bernie Shaw (Lead Vocal), Trevor Bolder (Bass), Phil Lanzon (Keyboards/Vocals) and Russell Gilbrook (Percussion/Vocals). With the exception of the new extraordinary drummer Gilbrook, this line up is by far the most enduring of all.

To celebrate their 40th band anniversary Uriah Heep decided to look back to their past without melancholy or nostalgia. Uriah Heep look at the future proud and happy about their 40 years of joyful relationship with their audience. That’s how the album title “Celebration”came about. Heep history has been an extraordinary journey and it was time that their greatest classics were recorded in studio by the line up playing them live to fans all over the world for more than 20 years. The band re-recorded twelve of their most successful songs: classics like “Free Me”, “Gypsy”, “The Wizard”, “Easy Living” and of course their all-time smash-hit “Lady In Black”. In addition to that they have composed and recorded two completely new songs as a special gift to their fans “Only Human” and “Corridors of Madness”, two of their best tracks in years. "Celebration" will also be a tour, reaching every major city in Europe and all over the world.

"Celebration" tracklist:
1. Only Human (new track)
2. Bird Of Prey
3. Sunrise
4. Stealin‘
5. Corridors Of Madness (new track)
6. Between Two Worlds
7. The Wizard
8. Free Me
9. Free And Easy
10. Gypsy

Philstar.com - Conversations with Ricky Lo | Super in More Ways Than One

If you can rattle off the names of the 13 cuties comprising the popular Korean Pop Group Super Junior (SuJu for short) without missing a beat, then you are a certified KPop devotee.

Try it (at random): Leeteuk, Eunhyuk, Han Geng, Yesung, HeeChul, Sungmin, Donghae, Kangin, Kibum, Siwon, Ryeowook, Shindong and Kyuhyun.

Got it? Congratulations!

Of course, you know that not all the members were discovered in Korea in a relentless recruitment that took almost a decade, starting in the late ‘90s, around Asia. Auditions kicked off in the early 2001. Han Geng was discovered in Beijing and Kibum in L.A. The group was completed only in 2006, with Kyuhyun as the 13th recruit.

SuJu membership equals the members of Backstreet Boys, *NSYNC put together. Observed a KPop fan, “The (SuJu members) sing and dance, and kiss flowers, and giggle, and apply astringent,” and even dress up in girlish attires but make no mistake about it, they are not gay. “They are just whiny people screeching songs about heartbreak and pain,” added the KPop fan. “They just want to give out love and free hugs..."

Initially known as Super Junior 05, the group took a bow on Korean television in 2005 with its debut album SuperJunior05 (TWINS) that sold over 28,000 copies. The group’s second album, Don’t Don, was released in 2007, followed by the third, Sorry, Sorry in March 2009.

Good news for SuJu fans! The group is coming to Manila as part of its Asian Tour: Super Show 2 set for April 10 at the Araneta Coliseum.

Your third album, Sorry, Sorry, is well received all over Asia and with it you also have gained a bigger fanbase which makes you the greatest boy group in Asia. So what can we expect from your fourth album?

“We are really glad to have an opportunity to reach as many listeners as we can all over the world with Sorry Sorry. It drew huge support from the fans as well as other music lovers. We will try our best to live up to that enthusiasm. Please be ready for our new album which surely will show another best performance and colorful music styles. Thanks.”

(For all the members) Do you guys ever sleep? A lot of you regularly attend and record shows, fly to different countries for guestings, film dramas. But you all still manage to smile and look happy. What’s your secret in having such a positive outlook in life despite all the hardships?

“We consider the tight schedules as the proof of the fans’ love and support. We are enjoying it. We sometimes feel exhausted and yet as soon as we feel the fans’ encouragement, we forget about all the fatigue. Definitely, the love and support of the fans are the motivation for us to run and smile more.”

(For Siwon) A lot of your fans notice you take photos of members all the time with your camera. Would you consider releasing a photobook of your pictures soon?

“Glad to hear that! At the moment I’m taking pictures as just my hobby to keep the remembrance of the people around me, so they are not that professional at all but just keeping the pieces of my private memories. If I have the chance to learn more with my camera, and if there is any opportunity to release a photobook, I may go for it (or may not). What I can clearly say at this moment, is that taking pictures is one of my favorite hobbies.”
